Meet the Staff
We are very fortunate to have a loyal and experienced staff. We believe in
continuing education as we increase our service abilities. There have been a
lot of changes in the insurance business since 1938, but you will continue
to receive the same friendly service.
We will make every effort to be available when you need us. We would
encourage you to stop in the office so we can take the time to review your
insurance needs and answer your questions. We recognize that you want
service and need sound advice at your convenience.
We represent many excellent companies and we will provide you with the
best insurance value available. Our promise is to offer prompt accurate
information for all of your insurance needs.

President
David joined Tanner-Ibbotson, Inc. in 1973 after working with
Peerless Ins. Co. He is a graduate of University of Georgia majoring
in finance. He is licensed agent in property, casualty, life and
health. David is President of the agency and is available at any
time to help you.

Bev Jones
Secretary
Outside Inspector
Bev started with Tanner-Ibbotson, Inc. in 1997. She graduated
from Homer High School. In addition to inspections and establishing
replacement values she is responsible for making sure Dave and
Baxter show up for work.

Eric Mertz
Vice President
Commercial Lines Manager
Eric joined Tanner-Ibbotson, Inc. in 1994 and is licensed for
property, casualty, life, and health insurance. Prior to joining
Tanner-Ibbotson, Inc. Eric managed the George Caldwell Agency in
Cincinnatus, NY. Eric is Commercial Lines Manger responsible
for sales and service.

Brian Toglia

Treasurer
Brian joined Tanner-Ibbotson, Inc. in 2005 and is licensed for
property, casualty, life and health insurance. Brian is a graduate
of Pepperdine University where he majored in Business Administration
and Political Science. Brian is responsible for sales and service of
commercial and personal insurance.

Anne Fitzgerald
Licensed Agent
Anne joined Tanner-Ibbotson, Inc. in 2001 as a customer service
representative for our commercial clients. Anne is a 1981 graduate
of Cortland State University with a B.A. in English. Anne began her
career in the insurance business in 1984. Anne is a licensed
property and casualty agent as well as a life insurance agent. She
is a member of the Society of Certified Insurance Service
Representatives.

Summer Cleveland
Licensed Agent
Summer Cleveland joined Tanner-Ibbotson, Inc. in 2010. She is
a 2003 graduate of Homer High School and has received two
Associate Degrees from Tompkins Cortland Community College.
She is a Licensed Property and Casualty Agent as well as a
Licensed Life, Accident and Health Agent. Summer works in
Sales and Customer Service in our Commercial Lines Department.

Paul Neske, Jr.
Licensed Agent
Paul Neske, Jr. joined Tanner-Ibbotson, Inc. in 2011 as a
Commercial Lines Customer Service
Representative and is a Licensed Property and Casualty Agent.
He brings over five years of Commercial Lines Insurance
experience along with certification from the Society of
Certified Insurance Service Representatives and as a Certified
Insurance Counselor.

Jacki joined Tanner-Ibbotson, Inc. in 1985. She is a

agent for property and casualty insurance. Theresa works in
personal lines sales and customer service. She has previous
experience having worked for the Owen Agency since 1981.

personal lines customer service representative. Kathy has
previous experience having worked for the Owen Agency since 2000.

Stacie Mydlenski
Licensed Agent
Stacie joined Tanner-Ibbotson, Inc. in 2007. She is a 1997
graduate of Homer High School. She started her insurance
career in 1999, working for the Robinson Bailey Agency from
2002 to 2007. She is a licensed for property and casualty and
is responsible for sales and marketing of personal lines. She
is an active member of the Personal Lines Technology Council
for Main Street America Group.

Laurie W. Seamans
Licensed Agent
Laurie Joined Tanner-Ibbotson, Inc. in 2009. She is a
personal lines Customer Service Representative. Laurie brings
22 year of personal and commercial insurance experience to
Tanner-Ibbotson, Inc., starting her career with the Owen
Agency. She is a licensed property and casualty agent. She
has earned certifications from the Society of Certified
Insurance Representatives and as a Certified Insurance
Counselor.

History
Tanner-Ibbotson, Inc. was founded by Harry Tanner in 1928 and joined
by his son-in-law, “Pete” Ibbotson, in the 1930’s. They incorporated in
1938. Paul Warner joined the Agency in 1953. Pete retired in 1984 and Paul
retired in 1993. David A. Jones joined the company in 1973 and continues to
uphold the values that have kept customers coming back for over 70 years.

Harry Tanner founded Tanner-Ibbotson, Inc. in 1928.

John S. "Pete" Ibbotson
John S. "Pete" Ibbotson later joined his father in law (Harry
Tanner) and formed a partnership.
